Gorillaz initiate their Instagram account and revamp their website.
There’s been a huge amount of activity on the band’s social media accounts in the last few days. They have now created an Instagram account, building out a timeline that begins with their formal inception in 2000 to creating a buzz with their new look to the official website.

Gorillaz is a British virtual band launched in 1998 by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. The band consists of four animated members: 2D (lead vocals, keyboard), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar, vocals), Noodle (guitar, keyboard, and backing vocals) and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion). These members are completely fictional and have not copied any “real life” musicians involved in the project.Their fictional universe is explored through the band’s website and music videos, as well as a number of other media, such as short cartoons. The music is a collaboration between various musicians, with Albarn being the only permanent musical contributor.

The as-yet-untitled new album was previously reported to be released later this year but according to collaborator and comic book artist Jamie Hewlett, the record won’t be out until next year.The new, presently untitled album, is rumored to feature collaborations with Snoop Dogg, De La Soul, Vic Mensa, Massive Attack, and Jean Michel Jarre.
Hewlett provided the update to Gorillaz fan page GorillazNorthAmerica, stating that the “really fuckin special album can’t be rushed”.
